The Song "Blue Orchid" by "The White Stripes"

The song “Blue Orchid” is a rock song sung by the band “The White Stripes” from the “Get Behind Me Satan” album. At that time, it was released as a single in the year 2005. Although, the song is riff-driven and basic as in case of most of “The White Stripes” material, it was distinguishable from the previous recordings having a bizarre disco flavor in the insistent drum beats of Meg White and the mannered falsetto vocals of Jack White, which were underscoring the processed, metallic and huge guitar riffs. Two guitars that play in unison for the song “Blue Orchid” by “The White Stripes” produce the recorded sound. Each of the guitars is combined digitally with an octave lower signal. When live, the bass-rich guitar tone helps in producing the sound, which is then used in conjunction with the whammy pedal for creating the sound breaks.

More on “The White Stripes”:

The single album is available in three different editions, in which each has different additional tracks. Although, all the three covers display a couple of people dressed as “The White Stripes”, they are noticeably dissimilar people. In an interview, Jack white mentioned that the song “Blue Orchid” by “The White Stripes” had sustained the album. In addition, Jack denied the allegations that the song was hinting at the end of a long intimacy with Renee Zellweger. The video for the song was listed amongst the top 20 scariest music videos of “Yahoo!” and was placed at the 13th position. The song includes model Karen Elson to whom Jack White would marry subsequent to the shoot. The Director of the video, Floria Sigismondi finishes with the horse having hits hooves elevated in the air to stamp on Elson. However, just before the hooves are about to land on her, a blackout happens on the video which signals the finish of the song “Blue Orchid” by “The White Stripes”. Soon after, High Contrast remixed the song.

About Jack White:

Within a week, after the band surprised their fans with the announcement of the plans for the North American tour, another announcement was made that the front man of the album Jack White has married Karen Elson, a model in the city of Manaus in Brazil. This was mainly confirmed by the publicist of the band on the website WhiteStripes.com. It was mentioned that the marriage took place at the confluence of the Amazon, Rio Negro and the Solimones in a traditional way. Jack White gained much recognition from the song “Blue Orchid” by “The White Stripes” in which he had used Karen in the album. Shortly after the ceremony, the priest blessed the couple at the Igreja Matric, the Catholic Cathedral.
